I’m a PhD student who has a passion for young people and all things (South) African. I’m currently in SA doing my fieldwork which is looking at HIV policy and young people in the Eastern Cape. Before that I am spending 3 months at the University of Cape Town trying to get as much information as possible from people who know a lot more than me about pretty much everything. I’m also attempting to learn Xhosa (pronounced with a click) with, erm, mixed results.

As is well known the path of research never runs smoothly, so I will use this blog to detail my successes, problems and outright disasters as they occur. Hopefully there will be more of the former, and less of the latter.
